A BC box retrofit. We transformed an old single family home into a modern 2 family dwelling, with the secondary suite almost as big as the main level. During design, we opted to leave the existing split level stairway in place to simplify construction and leave room for building flexibility in the future. The existing house was 2x4 construction built on an uninsulated 8” concrete basement wall.
